As said several times, don't worry about the personality which seems worse than Max's one, that's just the starting point, but the characters (including Max) will have a big development through the story

Sally is one of my favorite characters, even if I'm pretty sure most people are going to find her annoying

I love veganism and I think that it is a wonderful thing -- I've considered being one (or at least adopting some of the practices), but if she is pushy about it, I'm probably going to really dislike Sally.

Well she is pushy, but the game is a comedy so that leads to some funny situation. It was made on purpose, like everything on this game. Personally I find Rakesh annoying since he similarly forces "art" on other people, but I'm sure many people will love him

Now it's the turn of Dominic, the "serious guy". Seems a perfect match if you want to play Anne as polite, diligent student. It's quite fun anyway to have interactions with him playing as Max, since you'll do everything to mess up his iron fist rule
