Yay! I like me some steampunk!

A short update: things are going well, we've got all char sketches (the main party only) and one colored. I might do a blog post about the game next Friday with Fen guest writer I'm hoping to have more characters to show though!

The drawings of Anne just made me drool. She really shows as a definite character with depth. As well as being sexy.

I just want to add that, as you have noticed already, this time the characters use a “full rendering” technique. Something I’ve never tried in my other games before, but the results so far are great.

The style is quite different, but the results are really great.



Is this style more effort for the artist, or what are the reasons you did not use it before?

Well I didn't do it before for two reasons:

1) Because is twice as expensive now luckily I can afford it!

2) Also, I couldn't find a good artist with this style. Loren's artist is great, but he can do only lineart, so I would have had to find some colorist that could paint over, and was too hard.



anyway, I'll still use the old style for many games (Loren 2 for example), but for some higher budget games like this one I'll try to use this new style

one more week without knowing anything about Arthur =(

Well the artwork isn't ready so writer couldn't write any intro, and adding to that the artist disappeared since a week...

Hopefully he's OK, I heard there are lots of bad weather problems in South East asia, many of the artists that work with me have problems right now (power outages, floodings, etc)

He replied and indeed confirmed my fears. Power is still unstable, quoting him: "Anyway, we just got back our electricity here on our area but authorities said to wait for a few days for the complete restoration of power as we still get 8-12 hours rotating blackout due to lack of power supplies."

So updates will be a bit slower. He finished Svetlana though, so that characters can be introduced. And what a character!

Sooo any chance we could get a peek at Svetlana in the meantime? Or do you just have scheduled days that you reveal them?

Yes I reveal them on a blog post each Friday maybe next one, if Fen has time to write a short intro!

I thought to do an update: Fen has been working like crazy in past months, and this one in particular he managed to write 45,000 words! (and of which quality...).

While the game is still FAR from being finished (needs still a lot of art, and the script is only in word format so needs to be "formatted" into Ren'Py, then added all the characters, etc is a long process) I am really enthusiast about it: there are A LOT of choices!! and they impact the story in several ways. Fewer combats than SOTW, but I will do my best to make each fight a "puzzle" so worth trying different approaches to them.



Quoting a tutorial phrase from the game:

"you can tailor the game to play in the style you are most happy with: as a combat-oriented RPG, for example; or a stealth- and charm-based adventure game."

Yay!

I hope the writer who is a year late, is not Fen.

Give us some preview! This is one of my most antecipated games from WW, the waiting is driving me crazy .

There'll be more character intros, but I preferred if he wrote the main story rather than that. I think I posted already some art? or you meant writing preview?

Just curious: Who's composing the soundtrack for this one?
