I know, and I would like to incite a lynch mob to burn Forsaken at a stake, but any victory short of her committing seppuku out of shame will be flawed and incomplete. It is difficult to argue with someone living on an island where people think they can make up their own rules for the global language just because they happened to invent it. I might win the hearts of the crowd by shooting down her impudent acts, but as I said, seppuku is the goal.

Hmmm I have a great idea. I will make the games in italian! so nobody can find mistakes or typos anymore

Jokes apart I always wondered if the big AAA games were written mostly in american or english ? I can't notice the difference honestly

To be honest, I thought Winterwolves' games were localized to the italian language too

Majority are American, but there's an occasional game or two that come out in British English. Largely depends on where the studio is, and their major target audience.

As a point of principle I refuse to write in American English. If an editor wishes to change that for final release then I won't stop them but I won't do it for them.

You yah spirit! I think I love you; but back on the topic at hand, your style works, and ignore yayswords, he's going through RPG withdrawals.
I am fine with either side of the ponds english, even those from down under. If the writing is good I am buying it, who cares if it is center or centre? XD

Oh wow, did this thread get a little heated or am I just reading too much into some posts? Hopefully, it's the latter. O_O
Anyway, I did assume that American English was the default in Winter Wolves' games since the majority of writers use American English. There's nothing wrong with using British English and a good editor will know when to adjust. I default to editing in American English but I can edit in British English when requested to do so. XD

Nah yaysword jokes. The problem with internet is that sometimes is hard to know when someone says something not seriously.
I mean just look at his signature:
"If at first try it doesn't explode, it ain't Jack who wrote the code."
THAT'S CLEARLY A JOKE, RIGHT!?!?!??
Anyway, today going to finish Thalia/Therjalla route, so there are only two more yuri path left:

it's fun because it's the same situation as before, but as you can see she behaves "just a little" differently from Joanne...!

Excerpt from my future memoirs: 2016-03-19, the day someone believed I was seriously considering riling up a lynch mob over someone's grammar.
I am somewhat of a writer myself, and fairly anal about my wording anywhere outside a chat window. There are posts here I've edited several times just to improve their language. More often than not, I proofread everything I post both before and after hitting the submit button. Now that I've said this, I've made myself a much more eligible target for retaliation...
Either way, I'm simply imagining that Forsaken might be as liable as I am to get all worked up over tiny mistakes, and I am poking fun at it. That is all.

Therjalla having some "fun" with Thalia. One of the few times in which flipping the sprite vertically isn't a bug!

And clothes (the skirt). I could ask artist to draw a special sprite for this occasion, but of course that would mean delay the game by at least another 2-3 weeks (he's not the fastest sadly). Considering most indie VNs doesn't even have the variety of backgrounds/sprites/outfits of this game (not to talk about the RPG part), I think will be fine

That is a problem since people took what I said angrily rather than just matter-of-factly. I'm not annoyed by yayswords' jokes at potential grammatical or spelling mistakes on my behalf or the jokes about me committing ritual suicide. I enjoy attacking the American 'English' language and often take the opportunity when it arises.

I have so many feelings about English and grammar it's insane. But please keep the picture as is, I think it looks great, and it won't break immersion more than the sight gag brings levity.

I think we didn't realize it was British English because there wasn't much in the other context given to suggest so and many times it's often a genuine typo. If he had included a screenshot with trigger words like "defence" we'd have been more understanding.

More like English is really cool on how quickly it changes, historically and linguistically it is very malleable and grammar arguments say a lot about the generation that argues them. Also grammar existed so all the different versions could be commonly understood, but the rules are always changing because English is a language that changes even faster than most others. Keeping all the rules precise for common useage for more than a generation is nigh impossible and seeing each generation (in historic writings) lament about changes the next will consider formal is fun. I mean just examining how words change meaning over years to become something completely different, kinda attests to how cool it is.
So sorry I feel I am always the one taking threads off subject.
On topic: I noticed most of the situations are sexual hijinks, which I love, but hoping there is a bit of drama and more romantic scenes too.

I feel you. I look at old, cumbersome spellings and think man, why would anyone want to do it like that; so glad we're past it. But not all are gone, and the confusing ones are misspelled time and time again. For practicality's sake, all words should be spelled as they are spoken. Take lose: Every (or nearly?) other word ending with consonant into ose rhymes with close, those, etc, but lose rhymes with choose. Better it too were spelled loose, it's not like it would be the first use homonyms in the English language. But why should I argue for such a thing when I can be considered an authority simply for having accepted and memorized most of the counter-intuitive spellings, eh? Language, in the long run,
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Argumentum_ad_populum#Language, but the educated keep the rest divided and conquered.
Now, Forsaken, I cannot accept what you did with the apostrophe. "yayswords'" or "yayswords's" would have passed, but now I feel like you changed my name to "yaysword". I wish to clarify that while you made me consider if I'd be happy over just a single sword, your adjustment was guided either by spite or ignorance, and I shall allow neither to stand.
